The Wolli Creek Preservation Society is partnering with the River Canoe Club of NSW (RCC) to run our popular Wolli Creek Eco Paddle on Sunday 27 September from 9.30am to 12.30 pm. The paddle will start from the RCC clubhouse, Richardson Crescent, Marrickville, and finish with light refreshments back at the clubhouse.
We will provide paddle guidance, and all the gear including canoes and life jackets. The Wolli Creek Preservation Society will provide an informative guided tour. You will get a very different view of the Wolli Creek Valley from creek level whilst learning about local wildlife, history and the environment. The tour is also a great chance to get a gentle and short introduction to paddling as we cater for beginners.
Paddlers on this tour need to be able to swim a minimum of 25 metres and tread water for at least 2 minutes. This is to ensure that in the very unlikely event that a paddler slips or falls into the water that they are able to swim to safety.
Ticket price is $75 per person (which includes single event Paddle Aust.insurance cover) or $50 for existing RCC members. Young people from 10 – 17 years are welcome if accompanied by an adult.
To book you will need to register with and pay via the Paddle Australia . This is for insurance purposes as part of your payment will go towards this cost. The balance of the ticket cost goes towards the work of the Wolli Creek Preservation Society. Bookings now open here
