Australasian Bat Night – Watch the Bats Fly out social evening on Friday 14th March, Turrella Reserve, 6.30-8 pm
Join us for the Society’s Australasian Bat Night event on Friday 14th March, at Turrella Reserve, Turrella from 6-30 – 8 pm. Watch one of the great natural phenomenons, as thousands of Grey-headed Flying foxes leave their camp and fly out in search of food. It is a great urban David Attenborough wildlife experience.
Enter Turrella Reserve from Finlays Ave. Earlwood, or Henderson St. Turrella.
Bring a blanket or a seat (we’ll also have some spare groundsheets), a picnic dinner or a snack, something to drink, insect repellant, and maybe a torch. The Flying-foxes will provide the show.
Make sure you come early enough to view the camp from Dragon Rock, next to the creek. They may even be dipping into the creek – www.youtube.com/profile?user=possm1#p/u/0/d_j5aDaykGk
There will be WCPS bat counters and WIRES bat carers present to answer any questions
