It’s almost spring and a great time to visit the Wolli Creek Valley on one of our guided walks or from the water on one of our Wolli Creek Eco-Paddles. These focus on different aspects of the valley with information about its history, wildflowers and the current threats and challenges it faces. Join us in exploring this special piece of bushland on one or more of our activities listed below.

Wolli Creek Eco-Paddle – Sunday September 8 12:00 pm – 3:00 pm
The Wolli Creek Preservation Society is partnering with the River Canoe Club of NSW (RCC) to run our popular Wolli Creek Eco Paddle on Saturday, 14th September, 2024 from 2.30 pm to 5.30 pm. The paddle will start from the RCC clubhouse, Richardson Crescent, Marrickville, and finish with light refreshments back at the clubhouse.The River Canoe Club will provide paddle guidance, and all the gear including canoes and life jackets. You get a very different view of the Wolli Creek Valley from creek level, and it’s a chance to get a gentle and short introduction to paddling as we cater for beginners.

Wolli Wildflower Walk – Sunday 8 September, from 8.45 am
Ever wondered what that lovely flowering plant was that you saw on your walk through the Wolli Valley – or another Sydney bushland area? Then come along to this leisurely and (plant) informative walk from Girrahween Park to Turrella Reserve on Sunday 8 September. This will be an introductory walk. It will also be an opportunity to see the regeneration of native plants after the controlled burn in Girrahween, in April.

Walk in the Wolli Creek Regional Park from Bexley North to Turrella Reserve – 3.5km – Sunday September 29 9:00 am – 12:00 pm
This is a 3.5km walk is designed for those who would like to walk the first section of the Wolli Creek Regional Park at a leisurely pace. This walk will showcase some of the best-preserved bushland in the local area, highlighting sandstone cliffs, tall gum trees, river views and birdlife.

Threats and Challenges-Current and Ongoing-Turrella Reserve to Tempe – Sunday October 6 10:00 am – 1:00 pm
Long-term member Peter Stevens will lead a very leisurely stroll with a lot of talk! He will cover a range of issues facing the valley’s bushland and wildlife and its human visitors. Peter seeks to alert participants to the need for ongoing vigilance and is hoping to inspire some to take up for the Society one or more of the challenges covered.

Walk in the Wolli Creek Regional Park from Bardwell Park to Tempe – Saturday October 19 9:00 am – 12:00 pm
Would you like to find out more about the Wolli Creek Valley Walking Track? This will be a leisurely Saturday morning bush walk from Bardwell Park to Tempe along the Wolli Creek Valley Walking Track. We will be starting at 9am sharp. This is a 3.5km walk designed for those who would like to see the Wolli Creek Valley at a leisurely pace.

A story of survival – Walk from Bexley North to Tempe – Sunday November 10 8:00 am – 12:30 pm
Would you like to explore the full length (5km) of the Wolli Creek Valley Walking Track. On this walk volunteer members of the Wolli Creek Preservation Society will guide you from Bexley North to Tempe via the Wolli Creek Valley Walking Track. They will share their knowledge of this bushland, its cultural and environmental history, as well as information about the current issues facing the Wolli Valley and the bush regeneration (Bushcare) work the Society is undertaking.
